  1. hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

    Oh you're serious... ;0

Yes, I agree, lots of accessable storage with big enough containers.   We have a few of those plastic cabinets on wheels with some drawers and barbies and little figrues go in those.  Some bigger clear stackable boxes for legos and play food.  Open bins for some of the bigger wheeled toys.

Also, use the kids to help organize and explain what goes where.  Take a photo and tape it to the outside of the box if they are little.  They can help pick up too, even if it is only a toy or 2 at first.

  2. When I was raising kids, I learned to multi task. Both hands were usually busy but when guests came over, they wondered how a single male could raise kids, work a job, and keep the house **** and span.

  3. Make sure they have adequate storage space with color coded containers. Example, stuffed animals in blue, etc. You could make a game out of picking up the toys with a small reward but let them know they will not get a reward each time.

  4. We got one of these at a yard sale - http://www.target.com/Whitmor-Kids%E2%80... and she keeps her toys in the bins.

i am planning to get a label maker and put labels on each bin so she knows which toys belong in which bin.  you can always turn the bins around so the label is in back, too so you aren't looking at it all the time.

this has helped tremendously at our house.  i used to have rubbermaid bins stacked in her closet, and she could have one out at a time, but that just got too tedious, because she was asking for a new bin every 10 minutes.  for bigger things that don't fit in her bins, they are lined up on a shelf in the closet.

clean up has become a breeze!!

    good luck!

  5. I use lots of different crates. Lola has her own room for her toys. It's right off of her room and it has a bookshelf for all her books and some of her toys. The riding toys go on the floor and the rest are basically just thrown in the crates. With a 13 month old always on the move you never have time to really clean up.

  6. Simple answer? I DON'T!  lol

Right now, we have a play room that you cant even walk in.  I do plan, eventually, to clean it out yet again, and really organize.  See, my future plan is to turn our play room into a guess room since the baby took our previous guest room.  So I wanna buy a toy box and let the boys fill it up with the toys they wish to keep and then the rest are going to good will.  They have entirely too many toys!!!

  7. lol  yeahyou are serious, huh?

All of the answers below are great suggestions, but I would like to add:

Make sure that you weed things out just before birthdays and holidays---simplify!!  These kids really don't NEED 40,000 toys!!  I know that we all want to give them more than we had, but there is such a thing as too much.
