Question:

How do you stay politically informed?

Since this is an election year (well, a presidential election year), I've decided to be serious and actually make the attempt at an informed and reasoned choice in who to vote for this year. However, there is so much to read and keep up with, I feel overwhelmed at the amount of information that's out there. Who or what should I read (watch, listen to, or even contact telepathically) that gives the best coverage of politics? What's out there that could help me stay informed and up-to-date that doesn't pander or wander into complete conjecture or arbitrary analysis.

  1. C-span. Watch the government at work. Watch the debate on the house floor to see where these people really stand. Look at the candidates votes on there Senate pages. What ever you do do not get info from any mainstream or cable news. They are biased one way or the other.

  2. Hm... You could get the Associated Press RSS Feed. That´s not bad. Or you could visit political sites like realclearpolitics.com or fivethirtyeight.com(hardcore polling stuff^^).

That would be my first idea. Well, and watching news.

EDIT: Yes, c-span is also great. I´d not suggest FOX and the Rush Limbaugh show, as the first commenter did. They are biased towards the Republicans, you won´t hear critics of McCain there- but a lot of Obamacritical news. Or, you could listen to Rush Limbuagh and read DailyKos.com- so you´d have both sides propaganda.

  3. i watch fox and i listen to rush and micheal savage. RUSH IS RIGHT!!!
