How do you sterilize a needle?

i want to pierce my own ear at home but i want to know a way to sterilize the needle to avoid infection

I know this may seem like a good idea..but its not! lol unless you have a professional that knows where exactly to put it. and also you cant pierce your ear with a fricken needle!!

I strongly suggest you either get a piercing gun (wal-mart has good ones) or you get it progessionaly done.

in case you're going to be hard headed (ignort..etc.) the way you sterilize a needle is by burning it i.e. with a lighter. please get ear cleaning stuff and use it! dont want an ear infection!

this is in the dental field? you throw away the needle in sharps container. Autoclave then syringe.

buy a sterilized one?

umm home needles: My parents would always use a lighter to give it heat a couple of times when ever they removed pricks. Alcohol in the skin to clean it.

watch the parent trap they did it by themselves lol.

I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself but I'm sure my opinion isn't going to stop you. At least you want to make sure everything is sterile. One way to do it is boiling it in a pot of water for at least a minute. Or holding it over an open flame for about 30 seconds but wait until it cools off to use it
