How do you stick a cross stitched applique to a fabric?

i have stitched a small design on an aida and would like to stick it to a handmade fabric totebag. how do you do it? thanks.

  1. You can get iron-on double sided adhesive fabric (vilene, or bondaweb) that would do this job. Also, pva would do it short term. I suggest you'd be better sewing your piece to the totebag so you could remove it if you wanted to put it onto something else later.


  2. There is a fabric glue that you can use it is named "sew-No-More" You can purchase a tube from WalMart - Michael's or

    any store that sells fabric.

  3. In theory you can use iron-on tape but I would not rely on this -much safer to sew it on, also to whip or tape the edges to give a neat finish.

  4. SEW it on....don't stick it...glue that works on fabric isn't stron enough to cope with the sort of stress that a tote goes through....just backstitch it on.
