  1. The ball valve in the water tank that flushes the urinal needs replacing.

  2. Sounds like a Sloan valve. Take it apart and clean the diaphragm with dish soap and water. The soap will aside for lubrcating it, will clean the broken down meterial off and not hurt the good rubber. Over time chlorine will deteriorate the rubber and corrode any metal while depositing rust or pipe grundo in it's orifices. You can extend the life of a flapper valve on a regular toilet in the same way. But they both can be changed out (flapper for regular toilet and diaphragm for urinal). And yes there is a s***w for adjusting flow rate on the valve itself. this can also be used to shut it off while your operating on it. Till you get it up to snuff again, Use this s***w to shut it off and throw a small bucket of ice in there. Running water will fill up a septic tank if you reside in the sticks, or provide a temptation for drunks (or mean spirited butt heads) to clog up with paper to cause a mess later. You wouldn't give a book of matches to a four year old now, would you? A pipe wrench, channel locks an a flat head screwdriver are all you should need.

  3. the tank above is usually drip fed untill it's full and this triggers the flush of the urinals

i have never seen a push button but i suspect something is not shutting off corectly allow the water to run constantly get a plumber in to sort it.

  4. It appears the flush button is stuck on open or has a bad seal.

  5. theres a rubber diaphram inside of the works. It has a small hole in it to control the flush and the allow water thru to create a ''balance'' with the flush spring. Probably has some rust or dirt blocking the hole.

Anyway take the thing apart and clean it and try again.

Along the side there is a slot for a screwdriver---turn it all the way in and it shuts off the water flow. Now you can take it apart. Theres a slot on top also but that controls the force of the flush--leave it alone

Assuming this is a SLOANE brand

  6. Where the pipe comes out of the wall (on the end) you will see a chrome nut or a slotted opening. Remove the nut or just turn the s***w clockwise until it stops. Flush. On the big aparatus above the urinal there is a large "nut". Turn it counter-clockwise to unscrew. When removed, you will see a black rubber part. Remove it and look for a chrome part on it. Take a needle and push any debris out of it. Wash off and reinstall. Put everything back together and turn the water back on.
