  1. turn ur feet so the side of ur feet are facing the directoin u were skating


  2. It's a difficult maneuver.

    The idea is to turn your skates perpendicular to the direction you're skating. But since you'll slow down so fast, make sure you  lean backwards.

    Do the skate turn quickly, so you don't actually turn.

Well,when skating you have to turn fast perpendicularly to the skating direction.........You have to turn your lower part of the body (from the waist to the legs) first and to keep the balance with the upper part.This 'ice flying' stopping is common with hockey skates.With figure skates it's not impossible but it's way too difficult because the toe-picks(the little spikes at the front) make it more difficult and even dangerous.I recommend you to start practicing it with low speed till you get used to the idea how it is done then you can try faster and faster.The faster you do it the more snow is flying;)
