How do you stop firefox.exe

im trying to install fireworks cs3 and it keeps telling me to close firefox.exe so i go to task manager and i stop the process and it keeps apearing again then i try to uninstall firefox then it just freezes my computer and plzz dont tell me to log on as admin cuz i am an admin so plzz help?

  1. Try to right click on the process and hit End Progress Tree.....

    If that doesnt work go to Run

    Type in MSConfig

    go to Startups

    Disable everything that you dont recognize.


  2. I never faced any problems with Firefox like this !!!

    Still, the ultimate solution to your question is that you uninstall firefox temporarily.

    But the problem is when you uninstall programs, they don't remove all the registry entries, shortcuts and program files; and some ofthe uninstallations don't complete at all !!!

    In that case, you will need a third party software for that porpose.

    Try Smarty Uninstaller 2008 and uninstall any program you wish to without leaving a piece of c**p of the software.

  4. I would run a virus scan, because as far as I know firefox shouldn't come back up after you end the process, unless you start it again.
