How do you stop going with the flow in life?

I have just went along with the flow in life & now I want to focus on something. I don't know what to focus on. I grew up poor yet I am very intuitive & pushed that gift away for a long time. I am very good at helping people solve problems. It is just because I can tune into what they need to know at the time. I know a little bit about a whole lot. Reiki, astrology, EFt, hypnosis, nutrition, psychology, etc. I can not go back to school I just have to do what I do naturally. I worked as an organizer for a while & my customers loved what I did but now I just want to work at home over the phone...How do you stop flowing along & settle down on one thing or isn't that necessary. I am ready to get started but don't know where to begin. I think not have any role models or vision about this is why I have held back. I know very educated people who work with people but have never been able to do that. Am I just stuck to help everyone for free my whole life? I thought about becoming a coach.

  1. Rebuilding a life after trauma requires you to release the trauma for the greatest good! How big is  your God? What a person does with the pains and joys of their life experience is who they are and who they become! Asking for help,  and accepting help are two very different things.

If you want to figure out where you should be and what you should be doing then you need to begin journaling and reading. Leaders are readers! What you are attracted to is what you should be involved in. Go to your local community college and talk to the adult education personnel, and they can help you get involved in the capacity of a returning student.

You can also volunteer in the venue to which you are attracted. Sitting in front of he computer and wasting time is not going to be the catalyst you need to move forward in your life! The computer is a tool, and you are free and autonomous. You could join my master mind group. We meet Sundays twice a month:) Are format is;  "Think, and Grow Rich", By Napoleon Hill :) e-mail me girl:) You are not alone!!!!

  2. well, I know alot of people like this.  I think the thing that might help is deciding what you want to do than follow through with it.  I suppose it also depends where you live, alot of states might not require certificates for reiki however I'm almost sure you would need some sort of certificate/degree for psychology, EFt, nutrition or psychology.  To become a Reiki master does not take as long as you might think, write down some of the things you are interested in.  Look each one up on the Internet to see how long it would take to get a certificate.  Than way your pros and cons.  Either way, you will need more experience than just a little of everything  to specialize in something enough to help other people.  Becoming a coach is a good idea too, what type od coach would you want to be?  Have you ever thought of being a birth Douala that certificate doesn't require much time and they make around 15-20 dollars an hour depending on location.  There are alot of options out there,  keep on looking and weigh out your options and follow through.  It also seems, you are thinking an awful lot, but to get things done you need to do them.  Good Luck

  3. It sounds like you do a lot of things well. Some healing professions to require a license or certificate. I do not know your life circumstances but sometimes returning to school especially a trade school like massage therepy training may be more possible than you might think. A lot of schools offer programs that are well suited for working adults.

If you are absolutely certain that school is not for you then you may begin by focusing on one of the things that you do well and enjoy and do not need a license for and begin charging people for that service. Start by telling the people that you have helped in the past that you are going to start charging for your service and ask them to recommend you to their friends.

Make some business cards and brochures and post them on bulletin boards at your local coffee shops and other businesses. Once you earn some money you could take out an ad in your local yellow pages.

If you start a business you will still need a day job or other means of support for at least the first two years as it takes that long to build a network and generally four years to build some stability. working for yourself, if you are going to grow your business to be your main income rather than a side line takes much more work than you would ever do for an employer. You will have to constantly focus and promote your service.

It is possible to find a job working for a company that really uses your best skills. It can be difficult to find those jobs without a degree but sometimes you can get a job at a company that hires people with your skills and you may need to work at a more entry level position and impress them with your ability so that they will promote you.

Sometimes it does come down to finding a way to get through school. I have always worked full time and it took me 15 years to earn my bachelor's degree that can be done in four years. It was hard and it took a long time but I wanted it and I did it in the only way I could manage but I did it and it has opened up so many opportunities for me. I had the skills but many employers did not care about my skill without the papers.

I too had my own business for many years and I was successful at it but not having the degree made it harder. I had to under cut myself and do a lot of work for free just to get people to see what I could do.

The deal is that to have what you want in life does require work and focus. It is good to go with the flow just enough to let yourself be guided to new opportunities and situations but unless you have a direction and remind yourself to stay focused on moving toward it you will not get there.

Sometimes you will need to search your soul and ask yourself of all the things that you have done and enjoyed what part did you like the best, what do they all have in common. That will tell you where to focus.

You may want to seek out someone who is successful in the things that you want to do and ask if you can spend some time with them, interview them, observe what they do and how they do it. Volunteer for them use them as a mentor.

If you are willing to do the work and follow through with your choices even when you are tired, ir it is hard or you just don't feel like it, you will get there.

    good luck.

  4. In general people tend to do well doing thing they like to do. Consider taking a " interest test". This is a psychological test that ask you a lot of question like: Given the four following choices which would you prefer to do?  OR Do you like to work in groups with people or do you prefer to work alone? Do you prefer to work with people or animals?....I think you get the general idea here. When you complete the test you answers are compared to the answers that people gave in specific occupations or professions. You can then select one of the professions or occupations that you answers are most similar to. ( I think you might make a good social worker.)

While you may not be able to go back to school, you can earn

a GED in your spare time, or even take some course through the mail on a college level, there are colleges that offer correspondence courses or even courses online. (I prefer correspondence courses myself.)

You mentioned interest in nutrition, some colleges offer certificates or even degrees in nutrition science. You skills in organizing and helping to solve problems may be useful as legal assistant. You can take courses through the mail or go to some college or business school near you that has a para legal or a legal assistant program.

As to you main question: How do I keep from going with the flow??? Fly you own kite. Believe in yourself. You can create the future. When everyone is going downstream with the flow find a rock or a solid piece of ground to stand on.

Have faith in yourself and faith in God. Faith enables God to work. (To learn more about God get a Holy Bible and a Concordense to the Bible to look up keywords that you want to find in the Bible.)

  5. There's only one option to going with the flow of life, and that's not terribly attractive: it's called "the grave"...
