  1. Make up your mind to stop procrastinating, and then do so, tomorrow or the next day or at least sometime soon......

Don't knock procrastination.  Lots of things, treated with benign neglect, sort themselves out.  Not your tax return, of course, but health problems mostly go away, or they get a h**l of a lot worse in which case you need to act.  That guy you really ought to fire?  He probably knows he's unsuited and is looking for another job.  Give him a little time to find one.  Deal with what really has to be done, and take it a bit easier with the rest.

  6. When you have the realization that something needs to be done just do with without letting thought come in with counter-intentions from the past, ie., don't think about it, just do it, but not like Niki and their sweat-shop BS.

  9. Have something good to look forward to if you don't procrastinate, like for sure ,really good. You will want to do it if you have something like this. Just ask any prisoner that it is not the punishment that keeps you from doing something you want but the reward that will drive you to do it no matter what.

  14. I do not have any clear idea as how could procrastinating be got rid of once and for all, but I am willing to give the though a thought. If we analyse procrastination than first thing that comes to the mind, after we have managed to define procrastination that alone might take ages, is that procrastination does not affect certain types of actions, it affects certain other types. It for instance does not affect us for doing thing that we do habitually, instinctively or therefore compulsively. I would not for example delay the watching of my favourite television programme, tasting of my favourite food, and doing many other things of this nature. I am however most likely to procrastinate where I have to deliberate, plan or think through things, as all these require the use of my willpower. I am for example most likely to procrastinate doing exercise, finishing my work in time, or accomplishing any of the goal that I set myself.

    This I understand then that procrastination is something that causes, or weakens, the power of my will. Then the question is how could I strengthen my will? And also how can I stay focused on things that I really need to do among all those that I like to do, which also includes doing nothing as watching television? Now this is a big question and required further analysis of the situations. As I can asks my self – what are my objective so that I may find it easy to remind myself of what I need to do? And then I need to ask – how can I achieve my objective, so that I may have some programme drawn up to structure the use of my will?

    I see that when we manage to master certain patterns of behaviour, we find it easy to implement them. If we have a format, or a template, in place then this means that we know what to do and how to do it – the worst and perhaps most depilating thing in the mind is chaos, confusion, disorder and distraction, or not knowing as what to do at a time. Then f we eliminate this by providing the mind with some fixed, and standard, procedural model it is more likely to stay on the track and to gather momentum in the run.

    We can see that all armed forces act upon traditional work ethics of discipline, punctuality and perseverance, than we have religious practices, that too are always in from of their fixed schedules to ensure that the a religious will is secure and properly supported for its assertion. I therefore think that if we support our willpower with certain mind models, something like building pathways to channels traffic, then it is easy for our mind to be at the best of it efficiency and produce.

  15. By loving everything that you have to do, equally even decisionmaking - Love every moment of your life - Procrastination is born of fear of not getting it right - question this - right for whom?  Choose to get it wrong with panache.

    Just let go and  live - there isn't anybody really on your shoulder judging your every move .

    You are allowed to make mistakes in learner mode and we are always in learner mode when we decide to live life fully.

    Make ten dodgy decision a day and live with the consequences - Just decide to hit the day running and move though it without stopping till you are tired and want to put your feet up .

    Everything matters a lot less than you think and the path of excess leads to wisdom.

  17. I think of the quote, “Procrastination is just fear disguised as inertia.” Then I ask myself why I am so afraid, and I usually become angry enough to attack the task and get it done.

  18. i waited a few minutes before answering...if you are a procrastinator, i'd have to go with the first guy's answer, but even then.....

  19. Have a really, really bad experience that results from procrastinating. If you survive, your bad habit will be much weaker.

    exercise

    study

    drop a bad habit

    do something good...etc

    what do these have in common..there are no specific deadlines to do them...we can exercise any time..doesnt have to be today...exams are 5 months away...thats enough time to study...im not going to die if i watch p**n on line..after all im only looking...i can help that person tomorrow..he's not going anywhere..

    so to stop procrastinating the thing you keep procrastinating has to attain the utmost importance in your life...like a do or die situation...unless that happens..things wont change

    lets take these 4 situations above

    if your life and health depended on exercise you would...if exams were tomorrow you would study hard...if the guilt trip from watching p**n grew so intense that it affected your personal life u might stop it...and if the person in need of help didnt have much time to live we would help right away..yes its all a matter of importance..hope this helps
