Question:

How do you stop search results from being misdirected?

When I perform a search in Yahoo, I get a list of results. When I click on the result, I am taken to a shopping page via finefinder, alfasort or quicklex. If I go back to the results page I can go to the proper page. This does not happen with other search engines. How to I eliminate this from occurring?

  1. you have to keep focusing what you search for.don't use too much word because the computer takes every word so you might end up at wrong place. keep it short and simple

  2. Read the address at the bottom of the paragraph before clicking.

  3. Some links are set up to do that; in other words, they appear to have something to do with your search request, but it's easy to trick search engines into believing that simply by using the right words or phrases on their pages, some of which are hidden from view.

As such, you can't prevent them from happening, except to be careful what you click on.

The only thing you can do is to reduce the possibility of them harming your computer by "restricting" them via your browser's "security" feature. If they are pop-ups, get a pop-up preventer, and a firewall program, but only if you have a broadband connection.
