Last night my friend was over at my house and were singing along to the radio. She takes voice lessons from a professional and wants to to be a singer when she grows up. But anyways, i was singing by myself and she had this weird look on her face and she told me that i would be a better singer if i didn't sing through my nose. Of course i don't want to be a singer but it kind of offeneded me. Not really like i was mad at her, but just a little. So i don't even know what singng through your nose sounds like so could you give me an example and then tell me how to stop doing that. Thanks!!

  1. She means your are nasal when you sing.

Try to take deeper breaths while singing and breathing from your diaphragm (when you breathe your stomach should push out, and your shoulders shouldn't raise)

and anyway some people just naturally sing that way.

and its not a bad thing!

  2. just keep practicing.

when i sing [in the advance choir at my school] I've learned to sing without using my nose.

just practice singing with your nose pulged, like hold it shut.

IT WILL sound weird at first, because your used to letting air out of your nose as you sing, but eventually you'll perfect it and sound great.

so practice with your nose closed.

try and make it feel like your voice is behind your teeth rather in your throat, keep your eyebrows up, vowls [like a 0 than O]

    singings a great thing.

hope it works for you like it works for me.
