We have a "bully" personality type involved in our team meetings and calling HR is not an option.

  1. It depends on what his position is and who is running the meeting. It is really up to the team leader to control a meeting. Have an agenda is crucial for any meeting. And a time limit for the meeting is extremely helpful to use as an excuse to cut off any unproductive discussion. It is up to the team leader to do so and keep the meeting moving.  If there is no team leader, you are destined to have a very disfunctional group.

If the bully is the person running the meeting, you  are hosed.

  2. give him a glass of scotch

    its works on Ted Kennedy

  3. Robert's Rules of Order.

Since you are a company (HR was the hint), request that meetings be handled under the rules of General Henry Robert.

Knowing the rules allows you to enforce the rules.  Even if he runs the meeting, you are allowed to 'appeal the decision of the chair'.

Lots of power to the deliberative assembly.

    Robert's works.

  4. DUCT TAPE!!! Works WONDERS!!:] ROFL! Just kidding.... tell them you'd like to hear someone else for a change. Bring it to their attention. I would

  5. KNOW AND STIPULATE YOUR TOPICS AND AGENDAS IN BLACK AND WHITE AND TRY TO ALLOCATE THE MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE MINUTES EACH GUY CAN HAVE THE FLOOR FOR HIS SPEECH OR ADDRESS

  6. Brink a pin with you and pinch  him when he is not looking at you...!!  I works  !
