How do you stop someone from using your address?

we live in an apartment where you have to write your name on the mailbox to receive mail, someone wrote their name on our mailbox and has already received mail. they are obviously trying to run some sort of scam how do i stop this?

Do you have any idea who this person is?  I agree with reporting it to the post office.  Also put a call in to your landlord letting them know about it as well.

If you can get the mail before the other person gets it, you could also take it, write "addressee unknown" and "return to sender" and throw it into a mailbox somewhere to send it back to whoever sent it.  Do NOT open any of it because that would be illegal.

Report to the postal inspectors they are very effective, -and will act swiftly-. this is illegal practise and the offender could, face imprisonment

Report it to the Post Master. That is illegal & a federal offense.

make sure you get the lock changed, the other person might have a key
