I heard there is a way to do it, and it will stop credit offer junk mail.

  1. you can request a "freeze" on your account by contacting the major credit agencies. The freeze is temporary (Something like six months), so it would have to be renewed periodically. They generally charge a nominal fee for doing so. Keep in mind that it would also block a company that you might want to see your credit history -- e.g. for a new loan or a job background check.

    I LIVED IN ANOTHER STATE AND THE UTILITY COMPANY PINGED MY CREDIT AND I HAVENT LIVED THERE FOR FIVE YEARS !!

    IT WAS FOR 14 CENTS ON A HOUSE I DIDNT EVEN OWN OR RENT !!!
