  1. get the gun

  2. Keep in mind, woodpeckers are protected by law..please take care of this problem humanely and legally..do not shoot them with a pellet gun as someone else suggested.

  3. have you thought woodpeckers love to eat termites.

they might be doing you a favor.

  4. Step1Squirt woodpeckers with water from a hose or a high-powered water pistol.

Step2Bang on the inside wall opposite of where the woodpeckers are drilling.

Step3Nail metal or plastic sheeting over the area where the woodpeckers are drilling.

Step4Use chicken wire or wire mesh over pecked areas, attaching it 1 to 2 inches from the side of the house. Woodpeckers won't have access to the wood.

  5. Drilling?

  6. Have a pest control inspection, to make sure they're not after bugs.  If you have cedar siding, they love whacking on that, and they can get confused by electrical wiring inthe wall and think it's a bug.

I've used a pellet gun to whack the suckers.  You might also try a stuffed or plastic owl to scare them away.

I just recently removed the cedar siding and put up hardiplank.  Let the little b******s try hammering on THAT!
