I have windows XP - when I first turn on my computer it takes forever for the computer to stop loading all the programs that automatically run - I know there's a way to choose which programs run automatically I just don't remember how. Do you know what I'm talking about and how to change it?

  1. Go to Start -> Run -> type "msconfig" (without quotes) -> click on "Startup" tab -> uncheck anything that you don't want it to load during startup.

If you don't know what to choose, uncheck everything except Microsoft related programs and your antivirus program. Click OK and reboot.

  2. Start > Run > type msconfig > click on start up > you can uncheck the program you don't want to start here, then click apply ok  then reboot

  3. Start, Run, and type in (without the quotes) "msconfig", remove things that you don't need from the list and restart your machine.
