How do you stop your hair looking flat after straightening?

I have naturally quite thick wavy hair but once I've straightened it it looks flat and lank. I've tried using Pantene volume shampoo, V05 Volume Boost Spray, hairspray and drying my hair upside down, but my hair still looks flat. Can any recommend other products?

  1. well the whole point of a straightener is to make your hair flat

try just blow drying your hair with a spiral brush

  2. The products you are using may be leaving a layer of build up on your hair which will weigh it down when it's straightened, causing it to have a heavy look. Try using a clarifying or deep cleansing shampoo once a week (or more frequently if you have a lot of build-up) that will clean the product residue from your hair so that it has some body even when it's straightened.

  3. just blow out your hair after you straighten it with a blow dryer.

  4. use a root lifter and blowdry it

  5. after you straighten it put ur head upside down then flip it a couple of times then put some hairspray in it..that should work... no volume shampoos work. ive tried. no results. its for people with like a natural volume.
