How do you store cake mix made from scratch for later use?

I just got thru making a homemade zucchinni bread and i had some mix left over, i don't want to make it all so, i need to store the rest, except, that I've never store away leftover mix, does anyone have suggestions....

Seal it in an airtight container and freeze it.
