  1. You're better off drying them first to preserve the psilocybin content and prevent them from rotting.  Simply spread them out on a rack and have a small fan blowing on them for like 24-48 hours.  Then go to a hardware store and get some desiccant (dryrite, silica gel beads, or damp rid), put the fan-dried mushrooms in an air tight container with the desiccant (keep the two things separate; you don't want to contaminate the mushrooms with desiccant), and the mushrooms are done when they're "cracker-dry" (dry as a cracker and crispy).  Now they'll be good for up to a year or more.  Fresh mushrooms will only keep for a week in the fridge.  If you live in a dry climate (like under 40% humidity), you shouldn't even need the desiccant step - just fan dry.  If you don't have enough time for this, then I guess you'll need to bring a cooler, but remember, they'll only be good a week from when they were harvested; eating a rotting mushroom may get you quite sick.

  2. you dont need to refrigerate them.. just make sure they're in a cool place.. like don't leave them in a hot car or a crowded suitcase.
