Can you use a curling iron? Do you just turn it on and start, or do you do it when your hair is wet? What temperature should it be on? Thank you!

  1. Okay, here's the thing... firstly yeah i supposed yoo can use a curling iron but the results won't be as dramatic. If you're hoping to use curling irons yoo've already bought then give it a go although it may take to long...it may be best to invest in straightening irons. If yoo frequently like ur hair in different styles (curly sometimes and straight others) and ur hair isn't naturally very curly then it would be a gurrd idea to but some new straighteners that have recently arrived on the market which when used one way straighten hair nd when used another then they curl.Yoo can buy different straighteners with different heat settings...try a pair with a heat dial so yoo can turn up the heat and turn it down...take some time to work out which setting suits your hair the best. Turn them on and go over a piece of your hair, if your hair is hot then you're ready to go, if not then leave them for a couple more seconds but some of the more old fashioned models take longer to heat up.You should always use heat protection although some may not work so well on your hair therefore you may have to try several before yoo choose the best suited to yoo. Don't use normal straighteners on wet hair unless it tells yoo that yoo can on the box...send me an email etc. if yoo need any help...hope this helped :)...i also hope that yoo can grant me the best answer as this took me nearly 20 minutes to write :/

  2. You can use a big barreled curling iron to straighten your hair but it won't give you the same results as a flat iron.

If you do use a curling iron, blow dry your hair as straight as you can before hand and that will help.  You should not use a curling iron or flat iron on your hair unless it specifically says you can.

If you plan on doing it alot (every day or every other day) try to use a lower setting.  If you only do it once in a while, go as hot as you can.

You certainly can use a heat protectant, be careful which one you use.  Try to get one from a salon because their products are higher quality and have less of a chance of damaging your hair.  They make serums or sprays that will help protect against damage.

    Good luck!

  3. I would use a straightener.  It's kinda hard with a curling iron.  Put it to the highest possilbe temperature- it will work better and faster.  Some straighteners can be used with wet hair, but it doesnt really work good.

  4. Your best bet is to actually use a straightening iron. Don't use when hair is wet unless its the wet to dry kind, or tells you that you can.

If not, you can use straightening shampoo, though the results won't be as great.

And lastly, there is also something called the straightening brush. I have on from Conair, and you use it exactly like a straightener (when your hair is wet) and use a blow dryer (the source of heat) on top of it...the brush comes with directions on how to use it.

  5. yes you can use a curling iron turn it on wait for it too heat up and let your hair be dry with heat protectant before you start the temperature should be on med to high

  6. A curling iron never worked for my hair but you can try. It takes forever to straighten it when its wet. You should take a shower, blow dry your hair, then straighten it. My hair is naturlly friz so thats what I do everyday to keep my hair straight

  7. well it fried my hair but it might work for you. make sure you use protectant because a curling iron is very damaging.
