How do you sucessfully have an ebay transaction?

I was just wonder after you win an auction on ebay how do you sucessfully have a transaction with the seller. Do you pay for the item right away? If you do pay and with paypal does the seller know where to send via paypal or do you e-mail them the information? Thanks for any answers.

I just click on Pay Now on the auction that I won & pay thru paypal.  I've never contacted a seller beyond that.

Once you pay via paypal, an email is sent to the seller notifying them of the payment and it gives them the shipping address.

You should pay right away and if there is a reason you cant, email them right away to let them know the situation.
