How do you suppose the Jehovah's Witnesses get out of serving on a Jury?

WHY ARE THEY BETTER THAN ME OR ANYONE?

They get out of it just like not serving in the military under the constitution which protects there religious beliefs.And is it not funny how there unwilling to fight for the preservation of the same document that protects them.

No, voting is not really a separate issue.  Jury selection is based on the voter registration.  So, the two ARE linked.  Not being registered to vote means you will never be chosen for jury duty.

They refuse to take oaths of any kind - which means among other things, they should never be allowed to hold public office, testify in court, get married, or serve in the military.  Like most hypocrites, though, they will contrive ways around their 'values' when it benefits them to do so.

Since witnesses are uniform in their beliefs and are found in over 200 countries, which military should they serve in?  Should they have fought for Germany during WWII, or participated in the genocide killings of Muslims in the Balkans in the 90s?  Witness are free to preach in Cuba.  Should they serve in the Cuban military?

As for serving on juries, the answer is simple.  Any deliberations will be based on Biblical teaching and standards, as is required of any Christian.  One does not set aside ones beliefs simply to fulfill the needs of others.  To serve on a jury, one must take a complete independent view of the evidence, without influence of anything, even God's Word.  Witness won't do that.

Your comment that they are cowards show how little you know about them.  Imagine what it was like refusing military service under the U.S.S.R.  In France, you get drafted, sent to jail for two years for refusing, drafted again, sent to jail for refusing, and so it continues until you agree to serve or age out of service.

For example at the height of the Vietnam war I was approaching my 18th birthday. Some of those in my class were talking about going to Canada to escape the draft. I did not see that as an option. I was willing to go to prison for my beliefs. What about you?

We are not FOR our AGAINST ANY particular country, rather, we are NEUTRAL to the political affairs belonging to this present world and are citizens belonging to God's Royal Heavenly Kingdom (as either direct citizens who are granted access to Heaven itself by God through Christ at our deaths OR to be citizens of the Heavenly Kingdom on Earth when our planet is re-created through Christ the way in which God originally meant it to be).  

As true Christians we abide by and put our FULL trust in God's Word The Holy Bible as the definite and final authority as to what is right and or wrong for human beings to do and or partake in.  The Bible states that Jesus Christ (The Son of God himself) said: "Stop judging that you may not be judged; for with what judgment you are judging, you will be judged; and with the measure that you are measuring out, they will measure out to you"(Matthew 7:1).  Christ also said that we must pay back to Caesar's what is Caesar's but pay back to God what is God's.  - Mark 12:17

Therefore, many of Jehovah's Witnesses do not because of both Scriptual as well as matters of concience, partake in Jury duty.  We may choose to GO to the Jury Duty summons, to show our RESPECT for the govermental structure within the counrty they live, however, many of us do not and or will not participate in the JUDGING of another human being as the Bible shows that that should be left in the hands of God Almighty who will at his appointed time give to everyone what they truly deserve.  Jehovah's Witnesses are very RESPECTFUL of whatever governmental structure belonging to the country they reside in as they are well known for paying their taxes on time, being exemplary citizens as well as a great contribution to the society in which they live.  However, when it comes to the matter of OBEDIANCE and or ALLEGIANCE as to either the laws of man and or God's laws, we will ALWAYS choose to obey God's laws over those of any imperfect men, as the apostles did as an example to us.

As far as Jehovah's Witnesses being cowards as you say, you couldn't be any further from the truth!  MANY of our dear brothers and sisters (young and old) have died, been tortured, ridiculed, deported and even killed and murdered due to our strict adherence to our faith supplied to us by our God Jehovah via His Son Jesus Christ whose commands are to be found in the Holy Bible.

Humans MUST understand (one day SOON they will) that the entire planet earth which we live belongs to God Almighty and NOT to any one particular nation, being that it is He who created it.  We as true Christians are NOT part of this "world" just as our Master and Lord Jesus Christ was no part of this "world", Jesus himself said this (John 17:14-19).  God's Word says that we MUST NOT kill/murder and that we MUST LOVE and PRAY for our ENEMIES and that those who choose to live by the sword shall die by it (Matthew 26:52).  

Besides, we as true Christians have other fellow believers (as well as people whom are NOT Jehovah's Witnesses) in various countries of this world and we absolutely WILL NOT FIGHT and or KILL these for ANY IMPERFECT HUMAN COMMAND OR PURPOSE which goes AGAINST the COMMAND of the PERFECT and ALMIGHTY CREATOR, JEHOVAH God through Jesus Christ His Son who is our King/Savior/Commander in Chief.

Jesus himself stated that this present world is actually ruled by SATAN THE DEVIL (which explains world conditions... you'd expect BETTER from God Almighty) and the Bible itself even calls Satan, the god of THIS world [or system of things].

Do you REALLY believe that the Almighty and LOVING God of the Bible and Creator of Heaven and Earth is the ruler of THIS present world, or that the inscription you read on money which says "IN GOD WE TRUST", or the world famous children's song "He's got the whole world in his hands" is ACTUALLY talking about JEHOVAH GOD and or His Son Jesus Christ (Read 1 John 5:19 and Revelation 12:9)???  Your in the "Matrix", Wake up Neo... Although we live in the world (mankind alienated from the true God) we are commanded to be NO part of it (the same as our Master, Christ Jesus), meaning that our hopes, our goals, our speech pattern, our beliefs, our observances, our conduct, our faith... our EVERYTHING... is completely out of harmony with THIS present world (our system of things), a fact in which we are HAPPY about.

The Scriptures point out that we are living in THE LAST DAYS of this present Satanic ruled world (2 Timothy 3:1-5) which is SOON to be replaced by God Almighty through Jesus Christ by a New Earth (society of people) in which ONLY RIGHTEOUSNESS (what God says is RIGHT) will exist! This will be in answer to sincere true Christians prayer to God taught by Christ that God's will be done HERE ON EARTH just as it is in Heaven... by means of God's Kingdom.

It is that New World which will be realized through the Heavenly Kingdom (or Government) of God being ruled NOW by His Son Jesus Christ from Heaven ever since the biblically shown year of 1914 C.E that we ARE citizens of and which our FULL allegiance is towards... a FACT that we WILL suffer and or even DIE for, if need be, as we KNOW that death is NOTHING, compared to the power of the Almighty God JEHOVAH through His Messiah/Christ.

Besides, if the ENTIRE population of this world would simply OBEY just TWO of God's greatest COMMANDS that we MUST LOVE God with our whole hearts, whole soul, whole mind, whole vital force and to LOVE our NEIGHBOR as ourselves... there would be absolutely NO NEED of Jury Duty or any reasons for wars to begin with. - Matthew 22:37-40

Jehovah WItnesses are not prohibited from serving on a jury because of their religious reasons. Therefore if called and chosen, they must serve like anyone else.

I was in the Jury Pool for the District court. I didn't ask for an out, and showed up at 3 cases, two of which plead out before the trial started.

The third was  a child abused to death, and I told the judge that I had very strong feelings about this death, and I could not be neutral toward this couple. They were being tried together and I expressed that one may be the true cause of the child's death, yet I would carry that anger over to the less guilty parent. (We had just a few months earlier a 5 month old girl that was abused by father and uncle to death and I was incensed by it).

I didn't not beg off because of my faith, but because of my anger toward the defendants. They were later convicted.

Most lawyers don't want someone who has strong beliefs, that feeling is on both sides of the case.

I was 1A and my lottery number was 3. (the only lottery I ever "won") I had to face the draft broad and explain to the members my stand as a Christian who would not kill others, since it is against the standards that Christ set for his followers. They gave me the CO status.
