Question:

How do you sweep pick on guitar? Like Synyster Gates for example or people like Yyngwie Malmsteen?

I have been playing guitar for almost 5 and a half years now, and i can do most things pretty good, but sweep picking is one thing i really wanna learn but I can't seem to get. Can some help me please? :)

  1. There a lot of youtube lessons on it, this one helped me a lot though Im still a far way off from mastering the technique but you could try your luck with this:

  2. Sweep picking is not complicated. Sweeps or arpeggios as they are called, is picking each note of the chord but in a downward picking sweep.

    This is accomplished by pushing your pick against each note of the chord and accentuating the last note with an up stroke. That is what makes the sound....the last note picked with an upstroke.

    go on youTube and google Paul Gilbert or Yngwie and they have good videos on how to do it.

    I am showing you the basics and the most important element.

  3. its all about playing an arpeggio in one thorough motion going up and done the strings. to learn it it requires quite a bit of practice and good timing go youtube some vids on it for more info
