  1. Swimming takes a very, very long time to learn.

If you are thinking of swimming competitivly, then I suggest looking into your local swim clubs or teams.

If you simply want to find a way to move across the pool faster and easier...I suggest looking at the website: http://www.usaswimming.org/usasweb/Deskt...

    There are four main strokes:

    Butterfly

    Backstroke

    Breastroke

    Freestyle

Each is swam very differently. Freestyle is the easiest to learn however. It is very hard to explain in words. Your arms should "zip" up your body and glide into the water, fingertips first. Your legs to do the common "flutter kick", legs together, moving in very fast, short scissor motions.

Like I said, hard to explain in words. Your best option would be to take some lessons.

    Good luck! K

  2. Take swimming lessons it is way to heard to explain

  3. which stroke are u talking about?

well the most common one that every swimmer should know is freestroke.

okay when you get into the water you have to be flat on your stomach with your face directly int he water(use goggles).

now when you got to stroke there is a pattern : " one...two...3 breathe."

and you breathe through your mouth under your arm. but you have to make sure your head is like looking over your shoulder or else you'll swallow water. now with your legs the kness are bent slightly but not too much and you flap them.

now the tricky part is to get your arms and legs to work together. you must turn to your side on every stroke of your arm or else you will move slowly. and your fingers always have to be touching or it will slow you down.

i know it sounds complicated and believe me it took me 3wks. to learn it and i was the only one on my swim team who didn't know it(i'm a backstroker).

try practicing on your table(small table of course) or a desk..it helped me. and also try doing the swimming in parts if you get the upper part correct then the rest is a piece of cake.

try looking at some videos too.

    hope that helps you.

    p.s. you could always doggy-paddle

  4. humm... well if you're talking about like swimming, like the sport there's four different strokes to learn: butterfly, backstroke, breast stroke, and freestyle... It's sorta hard to explain... Just get a nice flutter kick going and then try some arm pulls. It will come almost naturally... you could join your local swim team... lol
