  1. That question has plagued mankind for over 600 years.

Trying to teach and perfect a golf swing is a billion dollar industry.

I can offer you this advise.  Do not try to swing like a pro because only a pro can swing like that.

All that matters is how " sweet " the club head meets the ball at impact. It has nothing to do with strength.  In fact, unless you are an advanced player, the faster you swing the club the poorer the shot.

As a "weekend" golfer, find the swing that is comfortable for you.   Go to the driving range and experiment.  Some golf instructors specialize in teaching you how to make the most of your natural swing.  You will find the game much more enjoyable that way than you would if you had to think about 12 different things every time you swing the club.

If you decide to take up golf as a hobby, BEWARE.  It is addictive, it is expensive, and it is the only game in the world that the better you get, the more you realize how bad you are at it.

  3. Wow, that's a loaded question. There is not enough room here to explain it all. Take a look at the website below for some basics.

  4. Just grip it and rip it.  Seriously though if you are a beginner and want a good source for the basics spend $12 on Ben Hogan's book "Five Lessons - The Fundamentals of Golf".  You will learn a solid foundation.

  5. A good way to get your basic aiming is to try your best to aim, set your club on the edge of your toes, step back and examine, thats how ive been doing it.

  6. General aiming:  line a golf club on the ground and line it up to where you wnat it to go (dont always have to aim for the flag :) ) then stand parralel with that shoulders MUST be lined up.
