How do you switch bathtub drain to shower drain?

You know, I'm trying to switch bathtub to shower, but drain is different, I think.

I don't wanna call plumber, so I'm trying to do it myself.

Please help!

  1. You need to tear out the tub drain, back to the main. Tub drains are 1-1/2" and showers require 2" drains.

  3. If you currently have a shower head and a tub faucet, you pull upon the little k**b on top of the tub faucet while the water is on.  If there isn't a k**b on top, some tub faucets you pull down on the ring where the water comes out while the water is running.

    If you don't have a shower head, WalMart and other places have a hose that attaches to the end of the tub faucet and hangs from the wall that works OK.

  4. Rough is is completely different

    pipe size is different (in Oregon)

    I would'nt recommend starting to teach yourself plumbing in this project

    Hire someone and watch and learn

    but if you make them take longer expect to pay extra for that
