Does Direct tv take the satellite down,or do you have to do it? Does it have to be down before the cable has to be installed?

  1. You have first to subscribe under a cable company to get a direct link. They will be the ones to inform you that your TV can now easily connect to all cable channels at a switch of a button. This is if your TV set is cable ready.

  2. if you have leased hardware,(if you had it more than two years you may own the equipment, just ask directv when you cancel) they will send you a box w/ pre-paid shipping, they will want the receiver(s) , remotes and the LNB off of the dish ( the part on the arm of the dish w/ the white lenses on it) .

the cable co. doesn't need any of the sat equipment removed before they get there
