How do you switch off the alarm on a watch?

I got a stainless steel watch with no instructions. It beeps every hour, and the alarm goes off at a certain time every day. How do I turn off the beep and the alarm? There are only four buttons on my watch: light (top left), start (top right), mode (bottom left), and reset (bottom right). I don't want to destroy the watch. Thanks!

  1. For most digital watches (I have one very similar) If you push the mode button until it displays the alarm setting, try pushing the start or reset button. On mine, it says ALM at the bottom of the screen when the alarm is turned on. If I push my adjust button, probably your start or reset, I can turn it on or off. There is probably also a chime setting somewhere in the mode settings, that can turn on/off hourly chimes. I had a watch that did the same thing, and the on/off was also in the alarm settings. Hope this helps.

Edit: It could be that your watch requires button combinations. If you haven't tried pushing the start and reset at the same time, try that. I also assume that you've tried pushing all three of the non-mode buttons separately, while the symbol is showing. The next step would be to press the button that starts the alarm time setting blinking, prior to changing it, and then try the other button. This is how my Casio turns the chimes on and off. If you know the manufacturer of the watch, maybe I could find better instructions.
