  1. you gotta build a vaccuum in the hose to pull the gas out.

generally, not safe to do.  But think back to physics and atmospheric pressures and liquids (like a straw, drink won't flow without change in pressure)

  2. some vehicles have an anti-syphon measure. I'd leave it well alone as you'll get a good price if it has petrol in it.

  3. the hose is too thick try a small diameter hose

  4. You have to suck to get it started :) Make sure what you are putting it into is LOWER than what you are taking it out of.

    Enjoy!

  5. Gas is very volatile, meaning it can explode or burn, and is also a poison. Not something you want to take a chance on getting in your mouth by sucking on a hose. As expensive as gas is, the hazards associated with siphoning aren't worth a few gallons.

  6. yea just keep shuvin the hose in as far as u can then suck onthe hose tillit starts flowing and thats all you gotta do. the gas well keep comin till its out

  7. you have to suck on it to get it started, but it's gross and dangerous  (they also make a hand pump and tubing for this, but i wouldn't make the investment just for the one time)

  8. A garden hose may be too thick.  Look for a narrower hose and look under the van and follow the filler neck to see how long the hose needs to be to reach the tank.  There's a risk to burning your throut with the gas and it's something you shouldn't do, even though a lot of people do it.  If you're going to do it anyway, a clear hose is best so that you can see the gas coming. You could use fish tank air hose.  Apply vacuum to the hose (suck on it) until gas enters the hose and is just past the filler hole.  The end of the hose that you will put into the gas can must be lower than the height of the gas tank on the van for this to work.

It would be easiest to drive the van until the gas is used up.  Good luck and be careful.
