How do you take a black and white photo and make one thing in the picture color?

photoshop is a great software for tricks like this.  All you have to do is outline what you want in color using the lasso tool and then select inverse in the "select" category, then go to "enhance" category, color-saturation, and then bring the saturation down to zero.  This will take all of the color out of your picture except what you outlined in the beginning.  (takes 3 minutes)

Sometimes its a setting on your camera. You select something in menu that's like color options, or something to that effect. You can then choose whether you want to have only one color show up in your photo, or if you want one color to switch to another, then be the only on in your photo (Example: take a green apple and set it so the color green appears red. You will then take pictures of a red apple.). To set which picture will appear, simply point the viewfinder at an object of this color. Than the menu will slide away and you will be able to take all the pictures you want. I have some cool ones where only my lips show up in color, as a bright red. Pretty sweet, huh?

If your camera doesn't have this setting, you can take your color photo and create a copy of it. Paste it into a second layer, then turn your first black and white. Erase the layer where you want color to show through. This will let you show multiple colors through in one photo, which is really nice. well i just use these photo markers that you can buy for like 10 bucks at a camera store such as wolf camera they work great and you can control how much color and what colors you use!

Photoshop.

You have a color copy of the image. Duplicate the image and make a second copy black and white. Layer the black and white image as a layer over the colored original. Erase the black and white layer where you want the color exposed.

If you don't have the more advanced programs to do it, one simple solution is to just cut out the part of your picture you want in color, then set the photo to B&W, then paste the colored part back in.

Create a dupe layer Convert to black and white. Erase the parts you want in color.

Duplicate the layer and change it to grayscale Erase items you want to be in color in the BW layer, so that the color shows through.
