How do you take off headlamp covers to a 1998 mercury sable?

You dont need to explain if you dont have to. Even a link to a users manual will help.

I need to clean the inside of the headlamp cover because it's all fogged up and i can barely light up the road at night.

the clear lense will not separate from the black housing. There are several ways you can clean them to clear the yellowish from the lense. You can use a vinegar/water solution or they make several types of cleaners for this purpose

You dont have to take them off,and the dont come apart anyway. Its the outsides that are fogged up. Napa sells a kit to buff and polish them to almost new. I do it all the time
