How do you take out a glued in windshild?

  1. you have to cut the glue with a utility knife under the gasket. Then you forcefully push on it outwards to remove it. If you want to salvage the windshield, or car, i suggest practice in a junk yard first.


  2. There is a special tool with a wire attached that gets pushed through the sylicone glue. It gets pulled by you , all the way around and while cutting the glue out you insert shims to hold the freed glass.

    Careful or you will cut yourself.

    Note, it takes two men with special tools and experience to put it back in.

  3. HOWEVER, you dont want to puch on it forcefully if you're trying to save it..

    Remove the gasket from the outside with a utility knife, then from the inside push it deep along the glue and attempt to cut it free from the glue.. Then repeat from the outside..

    Chances are you won't suceed, sojust in case you do s***w up and break the windo then use a sharp putty knife or soemthing to that degree... and have at it...

  4. you need a special cutter to cut through the urethane.
