How do you take wired speakers from your current home theater system, and make them wireless without buying ?

  1. Why would you do that.  This would be like going from a Ferrari to a Ford Pinto and expecting the Pinto to match the Ferrari in performance.

    Wireless speakers are pretty much the worst in audio quality that you can go (next to an MP3 player).


  2. You can but it's very expensive and you loose a lot of quality. The wire to speaker carries an amplified signal from your receiver/amp. A wireless base station would need to convert the analog signal to digital, transmit that signal, then a receiver at the other end would need to convert it back to analog and re-amplify it again. You loose some of the quality there.

    Wireless speakers are subject to interference also. You won't see any high end speaker set ups using wireless. In the years to come they may improve it and the price may come down.

    Your best bet is to try and hide your speaker wires. You can tuck them under baseboards, run them under the floor or buy plastic raceways to do it.

  3. No, this is simply because speaker systems do not work at line level on the output end.
