  1. don't know what a pain turtle is.

    but i have red eared sliders, and they're about 5 years old. males have longer foreclaws. that's the most obvious thing about males.

  2. Pain turtle?

    Usually the indicators of gender are;

    A girl will have a slightly convex (protruding) tummy shell, ( lift her/him up to see, try not to turn over, turtles don't like being upside down ) Also a girl will have a thinner tail, her 'vent' will be very close to the edge of her shell. Depending on what type of turtle, a girl may have a higher dome and slightly more round shaped dome than a boy.

    A boy will have a flat or concave (slightly sunken in) tummy shell, usually a longer and thicker tail, longer front claws and his vent will be further down his tail a little bit away from the edge of his shell.

    I'm not sure what kind of turtle you have, I hope this helps

  3. By that age, if it is a male, it should have long claws, especially on its front feet, and a long tail. Trust me, if your turtle has really long front claws, and it should be obvious, it is a boy!

  4. what exactly is a pain turtle?

  5. Im guessing you mean painted turtle....

    a male will have a concave ..dent...on the bottom.

    The female is flat on the bottom....you get it?

  6. males..long front claws that are used in mating and a much longer tail than the female..

  7. well first, lift up the turtle, but don't turn it on its back, it is dangerous for the turtle, then look under the tail, if it has a slit at the top of the tail then it is a female or an undeveloped male, if it has a slit near the end of the tail it is a male. you cannot tell its s*x if it is under 2 inches long. i hope this helps!
