  3. Usually you can't tell the age accurately unless the bird has a breeder band stating date of birth or hatch date as well as breeder's name or you if you have actually raised the bird yourself from an egg.You can tell the gender of a parakeet though when their mature.

    If the cere of the parakeet(the fleshy part above the nostril) is blue that equals a male parakeet. If the cere is brown to pink in color when the bird is mature, that means a female parakeet is present. The site below explains it a little more in depth. I hope this helps!
