  1. unfortunately, if its prity and colorful its proley a boy if its fat and ugly and fat a girl

  2. it depends on the bird

for MOST birds the males will be more colorful to attract the females

in parakeets if you look right above their beaks by the nose holes a male will have a blueish tint whereas a female will have a pinkish purplish color to it

  3. with parakeets, the boys have blue noses, and the girls have pink. and usually the female is a lot duller than the male.

  4. The different colors and patterns are the male birds and the femals are kind of dull and don't have patterns and bright colors.. if your bird lays an egg.... its a female

  5. it is different for every bird

  6. It depends on the species of bird.

  7. Well, I'm not sure if it's all birds, but I have 3 parakeets and if their beak at the top is blue its a boy, girls are normally a tan color!

  8. Generally, males have stronger colors and are slightly more aggressive than females.

In some species, however, the relations are close.

You could always ask a vet to take a blood sample and found out from that.

  9. it depends on the type of bird.  In dimorphic birds, the males are one color and the female another.  this is typical in some finches, song birds, and a few parrot species.  For example, look up pictures of the eclectus parrot or the orange weaver finch.  In others, there may be a more brilliant color, like in cockatiels.  However, this is not accurate as nutrition, genetics, and your own opinion will vary in identifying s*x.  the majority of pet birds, especially parrots, need to be sexed through DNA or professionally probed by a vet.  There are no outward physical sign of s*x, though skeletal structure and personality are sometimes clues.

Bottom line, it depends on the bird.

  10. Well it all depends on what kind of bird you have.

You have to wait at least 1year before you check a parakeets nose (cere) because parakeets nose (cere) changes overtime.

    Parakeets = Nose (cere)

Blue, Purple, Blue/Purle Cere = Male

White, Pink, Tan, Brown Cere = Female

If the bird lays an egg than its a female, though it doesn't mean it is a fertile egg. Otherwise i don't know much about other birds.

  11. Usually the pretty birds are male and the plainer ones are female.

  12. It is true that Males tend to be more colorful than females because in the wild they need to attract females, but the females need to stay camouflaged in order to not call to much attention to the nest, but there are several other ways to tell:

    1. Males tend to perch with their legs relatively close together, while females usually keep their legs spread pretty wide.

    2. The area where your birds nostrils are (right above the beak) is called something fancy, i don't remember, but i do remember males' nose areas are usually purple or blue, while females' are skin colored or pale.

    3. It is possible to get surgery done on your bird to tell, but this almost always kills them, so don't do that.

  13. Usually by the color.  In most bird species the male is the colorful one and the female is the more dull colored, this is so she blends in better with the nest.  It protects her against predators. The males bright coloring helps them to attract females.

  14. I look it up on Wikipedia, then read it

  15. Many birds you can't tell. I have three parrots. A blue-throated macaw, a yellow crowned amazon, and a conure.  All three had to be DNA tested in order to tell its s*x.  However, if they don't look alike then the one with the most plumage will most likely be the male bird, such as peacocks.

  16. It depends on the bird.  In parakeets (budgies) the males cere (or nostril) is blue and the female it's pink to brown.  In pacific parrotlets the male has blue on the wings, near the eyes and on tail feathers.

Some birds you can only tell by blood test..... again, depends on what bird you are talking about.

  17. It depends on the bird. On some birds, such as the parakeet, a white thing above the beak turns colors according to gender. You should google "speciesofyourbird gender identification" to see

  18. It depends on the species. Some parrots (if you're speaking of domestic pet birds) have to be DNA sexed to know for sure.
