Question:

How do you tell if a molar tooth is an adult or a baby?

that pretty much asks it all. but i have a loose tooth that hurts to chew or bite down. it is the one right next to my 12 year old molar. on my bottom left side. it aches like crazy. and ...i kinda lost track on all my teeth...i cant remember if i already lost it or not!

HELP! BE4 IT FALLS OUT AND I HAVE TO GET DENCHERS!!! AHHHHH

  1. THE TOOTH RIGHT NEXT TO THE 12 Y/O MOLAR IS THE PERMANENT 6 Y/O MOLAR AND THIS SHOULD BE REPAIRED

  2. A baby molar is flat, an adult one has higher ridges.

I don't know, but would guess that a loose tooth sounds like it is a baby one falling out or you injured it (which you think you would know).  Would imagine things would have to be really bad for an adult tooth to loosen on its own?  A trip to the dentist might be good to put your mind at rest and find out more about your mouth.  They could do an x-ray too.  It is possible to be missing an adult tooth and still have a tooth from childhood that was supposed to fall out but didn't because of that, and some people don't have as many teeth as others (or what is expected to be a full set).  Good luck.
