How do you tell if your friends are online?

To find out if your friends are online, you can:

1) click on "Online Friends" on the bottom bar* on Facebook.com

2) box will pop open showing all of your online friends

* you must be using a new version of Internet Explorer or Firefox to access this feature of Facebook.com

If you have Firefox it shows on the bottom right.

You can use SpyBuddy or any other buddy spying software.

To do it manually, on your YM or any instant messenger you and your friend is using, you can make a pc to pc call. If it rings, it means that your friend is online but invisible.
