Someone that I care about a great deal seems to drink too much. She doesn't drink every day, or even really that often-maybe 2-3 nights a week. However, when she drinks, she keeps drinking to the point of being trashed and passing out. She has no limits. Sometimes, it turns her into a nightmare and she picks arguments with others, and sometimes she becomes very happy and expressive. I don't think she realizes that she has this problem. What do I do?

  1. It sounds like she has a problem with self-control,

is there something stressful going on in her life to cause her drinking in large amounts?

I suggest you instead of going out and getting drunk, you should just have a girly night and watch films and chat, she may open up to you about what is causing her to drink so much.

A person has a drinking problem when they start to become dependant on alcohol to make them feel better.

Good luck to you, just be a good friend.

  2. Do you ever take pictures of her or video tape her I was a school girl in middle & high school then I had my son at an early age my point is when I was able to start really having a good time I took it to far I was constantly drinking and people were having to babysit me and then when i saw how I looked through pic's and videos I was embarrassed and watched myself more as well as some people had to tell me when i was sober that's when i would see the pic's or video...I wish y'all the best of luck because sometimes the worst has to happen before it gets better
