  1. Generally, if they're very small, they are also very young.  This is not always the case, as the smallest adult fish is the Paedocypris progenetica, so it's smaller than some newly hatched/born fish.

    It's almost impossible to tell the exact age of any fish for the average fish keeper.


  2. idk if you can, you can tell that as they get older the color of the fish fades a little bit, and they dont seem as active.

    but im not quite sure.

  3. i dont think you can with most fish. some breeds never stop growing and then their length can tell you roughly. others might loose some of their coloring over time. othewise i don't think you can tell at all. the fish i recently got look the same as the fish i've had for years.
