How do you tell the difference between a boy salamander and a girl salamander?

How do you tell the difference between a boy salamander and a girl salamander?

well if u go under the tail when its breeding time you will see swelling aroud the area where it pees and poops; thats a male. Now its a female if her tail is shorter than the male.  There is also a difference in stomach size during this time; female's is the larger one.  

Or you cna see if the slamander has a male reproductive organ if you blow lightly on the hole... but it's a little more difficult to tell that way.
