  1. You dont have to waite till they get bigger then a roo will have a larger crown and brighter color as well then around 4-5 months the roos will start to crow

  2. sorry to tell you but there really is No definite way of telling the s*x of your chick There is only one way of finding out for definite and that's vent sexing and that can ONLY be done in the first 24 - 48 hours . . or when it's older . . but by then you'll know =]

I'm afraid you'll just have to wait it out and look for the tell-tell signs of the chicken's s*x

eg male .. normally Brighter colours .. will crow at around 16 weeks. . normally bigger and more muscular . . then females tale feathers will develop . . and it will grow "spurs" on legs when it reaches sexual maturity Males chicks always grow their feathers significantly SLOWER then chickens

females on the other hand are basically the opposite . . will never crow . . duller colours (usually) . . will begin to lay eggs .at around the 4-6 months old . .and female chicks start to feather up QUICKER ten males . . also generally speaking the females lobes and combs are smaller and lesh fleshy then a c**k-bird's

The only other way you can tell is if your chick is of an "auto-sexing breed" but i doubt it?
