I have McAffee and Ad-aware. I got a message that I had something being blocked. I ran McAfee and Ad-aware and the usual stuff came up to remove, but nothing out of the ordinary. Now when I go to get on the internet, I keep getting that message that internet explore has encountered a problem and needs to close. How do I fix that and is there some way to test my computer to make sure it isn't infected?

  1. Here are links to one free scan and registry cleaner.  It can't hurt to try!

  2. Try downloading Firefox http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ and using that to see if that fixes your problem.

  3. Try reinstalling Internet Explorer.

    Hope that helps.

  4. Doesn't sound like an infection, sound more like damaged windows files, which can only be repaired in two ways, doing a system repair install or reinstalling windows.

But if you would like to test your protecton software, go here and use this free online scanner.
