How do you text a mobile from england to america?

Im trying to text my friend in america on her mobile, how do I get to do this?

001- the code for the state- the number but lose the 0 in the US number.

The number in the US is 0301 684 5312

so it will be 001 301 684 5312.

The international dialling code to call the USA from the UK is 001, so to text your friend on her number  you would put in 001 then drop the zero at the start of her number & type in the rest.  

For example if her number was 07855 964 223, to text her from the UK you would put in 0017855964223, if that doesn't work call your mobile phone providers.

Is she British but holidaying in America with her British phone? If so, take the initial 0 off her phone number, and then dial +44 (then her number minus the inital 0)

If she's got an American phone then you need to dial +1 (then her phone number minus the inital 0)
