How do you think The baby got this color

I have 5 rabbits now and I was just wondering how can my rabbit turn out this color? Its weird It looks like a wild one

I thought it would turn out gray or something.

  1. A great many rabbits are brown.  If its ancestors are brown it is likely to be brown.  Parents are only part of the story.  Other ancestors contribute too.


  2. Its very common, as the babys colour is Chestnut agouti, The wild rabbits are more of a steel grey(normally),Like often i find i breed two red eye white rabbits(Albino) together the result are often black or agouti!!!!!!!! Its just the way it is..

    Hope this helps in some way!

  3. wow that is cool! I love color gens!...my best guess is that the parents are carrying an agouti gen. or atleast a banded gen like a red or a fawn could produce agouti...it is hard to know what you could get unless you have the pedigree on your rabbits.
