  1. Thercan be no doubt that Gatland is taking his team out there to win and make a statement.

South Africa are going to have a lot of players now playing outside of South Africa, and as such they will have limited organisation time for preperation. Wales on the other hand have all but one or two playing at the Welsh regions, so the WRU will get early release, or staggered release of players to the national training sessions.

We are going down there as Northern Hemisphere Champions, to play the Southern hemispher and worlchampions. We SHOULD have met the Bokke at RWC07, but our illustrious halfwit of a coach blew it, somehow managing to take the team to a loss against fiji! (another story and don't get me started). ;-)

We are going down heads held high, and we are invading South Africa. It is up to them to beat US, not the other way around.

I for one can't wait for June to come.

  2. They got a good chance, if they keep playing like they did in the 6 nations they should do well. they have full of confidence after beating the likes of France and Ireland and should go into south africa to for a good game.

  3. Wales isnt the same wales that showed up for  the world cup. I think wales will  do fine against the Boks. Maybe not win, but they wont get powned by em.

  4. I'm totally confident that they will do well...

  5. You may take this opportunity to say goodbye to the Welsh winning streak!  South Africa has not gotten any weaker since the World Championship they one this year.

If they beat the Blacks what chance does Wales stand?

    In a word, None!

  6. Poorly.

I think we will discover how poor this year's 6N was.

I suspect all SH fans see the same.

  7. I would say that over the next three months, Gatland will be looking closely at the RSA games and will do his homework......this is a completely different Welsh team at the moment, so I would say that Wales will fare very well.

It will be tough for them out there and it will be the end of a very hard fought season for Wales, but they will play with pride and passion!

    I for one, cannot wait!

  8. In Wales's impressive improvement since the Rugby world cup, a new ethos has developed within the Welsh camp resulting to-date in outstanding success. If this improvment can be maintained and built upon I can see Wales ruffling a few feathers on their forthcomming tour to South Africa (and I dont mean Ostrich feathers either!). South Africa, currant World Champions will be a massive ask for this talented side, particularly at altitude, a big test for the new European Champions. I will stick my neck out and predict Wales to win a test match against the Boks! rock on Wales!

  9. I'd love to say that I think Wales will do well but I can't and anyone who thinks that they will win a match is dreaming...

Pride only counts for so much, then talent, size and strength, technical ability and all those other things that the Boks have got in spades will determine who wins. And it won't be the Welsh. The only chance they have got is if the crazy SA quota system means that SA can't put out their best team...

  10. Wales will be full of beans after their 6 Nations victory, and will have a positive outlook going into the game against the Boks.

However South Africa are a different side from the 6 Nations and they have the benefit of playing at home,  hard fast grounds, the Boks have just finished playing the Super 14

and will play a fast expansive game of Rugby that is being developed due to the ELVs.

Wales will give it their all, but I believe the pace of the game that is being developed by the Southern Hemisphere will be too much for the 6 Nations champs.

i believe Gatland will see this tour as a learning experience for his fellows, and he will be able to see which players can truly stand up to the top levels of international Rugby.

  11. South Africa are near impossible to beat in Africa.

Some of the RSA teams in the S14 (notably the stormers) are ripping the rush / blitz defence of other S14 teams to shreds.

If the new Bokke team plays an expansive game on the high veld - Wales will be working extremely hard to stop them. RSA's S14 teams have shown they have the sets to confuse and beat rush D.  i.e the same D that Wales used so well in the 6 nations (only two tries scored against them - unreal)

Also going to need more weapons to attack the gain line.

If a 7 foot 200kg springbok gets confused and "accidentally" puts his foot or fist into the wrong part of Shane Williams . . . there aren't too many more guys on the Welsh bench with white line fever.

Time for some of the Welsh journey men to stand up and be counted. That dude Henson needs to go hard, now that he has a decent hair cut, nothing stopping him.
