Question:

How do you think about this approach to the Iraq War?

Okay here's another "How do you think..." question. To make the next move on the Iraq War we hold a vote on whether we should continue or not, but the only ones who get vote are the Iraq War veterans and the Iraqi people. From the two seperate group of votes, we then make a new move according to the vote results. I mean, they are the two groups most affected, so they should be the only ones who can vote on this matter. I know, I know, before I get the "Well we pay taxes to fund it." comment, try to think about the other stuff you pay taxes for that you may not support at all. I will make additional comments if nessary after responses are made.

  1. I would like to see the outcome, it would be interesting! I like your thinking!

  2. Your question smacks of socialism.  Yes, I agree that the parties you mentioned are most affected by the war and should have a say, but you leave open the HUGE question of how this vote should be handled.  There would just be more violence to ensure  each side gets the majority.  Unfortunately, we have to eventually accept that there are greater issues at stake than whether the current local population is happy.

This is why we have the United Nations and the Security Council.
