How do you think fashion spreads??

Question

Today you see people wearing one type of jeans(belt,shoe etc) and in a month you see everyone wearing a different type of jean. How does fashion spread? I feel that it could be through one of the following reasons.

1) One person goes to the shop and finds a new arrival jean. he/she tries it. Now she wears that new arrival jean to her college and everyone in the college feels that it is good and everyone buys a similar one and wears it. One following the other it spreads to the whole city.

2) One person sees in the television or in a magazine her favorite celebrity or someone wearing a particular type of dress. Now she tries to find a similar type of dress and wears that to her college and everyone in the college follows her. One following the other it spreads to the whole city.

Is this how fashion spreads???Am i correct???? Please advise as how fashion spreads.

i geuss mostly thro celebs and evryone's like i wanna wear that beacause someone FAMOUS wears it and maybe not even thro celebs but through the people at school who are fashion divas... but they prolly got it through celebs so i'd say that everyone is copycats of celebs.... as long as their outfit got good ratings ;)

Most likely fashion spreads so quickly because of celebrities we see in television , or print ads. Andalso if you notice , if we go to mall or department stores, fashion is already displayed, So we are very much convince to buy bec we saw our fav celebrity wore  them ..So thats how fashion spreads.

Well people have idols and idols have idols and so forth

when someone see's there idol dressing all different they think

oi they're cool im gonna do that. people catch on and follow and the entertainment and clothes making companies catch on a bring new stuff out

we steal most of our stuff from other countries

First a person becomes popular or magnetic, then they carry the fashion well and then all the people who want to be like that person or have their qualities emulate their fashion choices.
