How do you think men and women's sense of humour differs?

What do you think men and women find funny? Are they different? Is it gender-related? Finally, on average, do you think men are funnier than women (or vice versa)? Just curious about what others think.... thanks in advance.

American male humor is often juvenile boring (to me and quite a few other women and some men) and is insulting.

American female humor is often juvenile insulting and boring to some men and women as they can't relate as they don't understand independent women.

British humor is usually dry and witty and sarcastic - so I love it.

Women will not laugh if they don't like the jokester.  Men appreciate real humor regardless of the source.

Men like dirty, smart and cruel humor more than women. A man is more likely to laugh at someone falling off their bicycle than a woman.

Women like innocent humor more.. like "Why did the chicken cross the road?" or "How men don't ask for directions...etc".

I think men enjoy slapstick way more than women.  Notice how men love the Three Stooges, but most women do not.  

Except for that though, I have never really noticed any other big differences in the things men or women find funny.

I think people have differen senses of humours but it isn't gender related. I think it also has something to do with your culture. I love Jim Carrey and the Wayans, they're hilarious but I can't stand a lot of american humour like 'friends' which so many people like. British humour tends to be more ironic and black or dry. My hubby and I like all the same things, we like the antics of jim carrey but also love Little Britain, League of Gentlemen, French n Saunders and Bottom.

well i find girls hate it when we talk about dirty stuff that's funny. Only some really like it. but then i guess it varies on the person.

Men and women are very different even if you find yourself exactly like your husband or wife. We definetly have different interests b/c and even if your man is wonderful enough to sit through a girl movie with you..he wont find the cute giggly stuff that we do funny even if he TRYS TO BECAUSE HE LOVES YOU. Like when the girl bumps into the guy and they didn't know eachother were there and us girls are like "OMG THEY ARE SOUL MATES" and you look to your man to see if he's paying attention and he's like yea yea I noticed that. ( but he's just sitting with you, not really paying attention to the movie all that much)..Women, we can only watch the simpsons for so long huh? Yes, it's a very popular middle ages MENS show, I watch it with my bf from time to time, and even that show Family Guy ( I actually love it ), but like the others have said..there is some sick jokes on there sometimes and I don't like it, but my bf laughs. Men like dirty jokes, women are like " um lets have some respect for women" so yes we are different, but I believe we're the same amount of funny.
