I am not a supporter of the present or past government as in my opinion they are seeking their interest first and then putting the citizens last .But really could they do anything to help?

  1. I highly doubt they can do anything now a days. Criminals are given contracts to build different things in Trinidad I think it is the governments way of trying to turn them good. The criminals are smart they use that money into the illegal business.

A greater force may be the only thing that could save Trinidad.

  2. Ooooh goood! Well done again Posse! I love these answers. Hear nah, leh we just go and take over the country and done. At this point in de game ANYONE could do a better job than the government.

As for my two cents, I think education and reform is the key to change. Stop voting for who yuh Tantee Nenen used to vote for and put people in power who have the country's best interest in mind REGARDLESS OF THEIR RACE!

  3. #1 Stop wasteing money on things that not working (like de blimp)

#2 Stop giving away so much money to other countries, cuz we really need it.

#3 Fire Martin Joseph, cuz he cant do he job rite. I wonder how much "arestes" they make today?

#4 Buy some blasted vehicles for the police service since they never have one when you call them.

I also agree with the first answer, provide more money for social programs.

  4. Everyone of us could rant and rave how much they want. The blasted PMN is in power if the flipping country is crime infested  ,fix it. That's what you do when you ruling the country. But, we like it so , it's all talk talk talk. Who gives a c**p about the poor people, the families of kidnapped victims ? No one. What Manning should start doing is to get rid of his SP. There's so much stuff going on that the people in Trinidad don't know. WE LIKE IT !...Bring the thumbs down I welcome it...

  5. JAZ FOR BEST ANSWER.

I always believe that since its our children who committing the crime, then its up to us to ensure that it stops.

I love to remind people of this: Manning, Panday and Dookeran dont leave their house in d middle of the night to rob you....you do you feel that they must be blamed for what is going on?

A few years ago corporal punishment was removed from schools....then parents felt it was good to go in the schools and 'beat up' d teacher for correcting their child.....and we still expect teachers to care about what our wayward child doing?

If we do not correct our children from early, and listen to our neighbours when they tell us that our kids are doing wrong, then what do we expect our children to learn?  long time, the entire neighbourhood used to correct our children, now....neighbour fraid to say anything cause if d chile ent have gun, d father have one.

Where are the spiritual and moral values that we grew up with? respect for elders, and anyone in authority? knowing right from wrong, and actively seeking to do the right thing?

Since when was it ok for us to be afraid of our children???? if your child doesnt respect you when he is 15, bet your bottom dollar that he not respecting no body else. imagine your 15 yo attempting to beat his mother? and she cowering in a corner....(that chile woulda get one big stone to head!!!)

i always say, if i bring you into this world, then i sure the good Lord will allow me to take you out! play stupid, one of us WILL die, and your father will visit ME in Jail!!!!! you will NEVER be more man than me...I am in charge here!

and i think like the ole people, d neighbour will never beat you if you werent doing something wrong. and if they had to beat you and i find out, i will give you a blow out too!  No "Time out" and "Go to your bedroom and think about what youve done" for my kids.  and ive seen my cuz pick up ah real ole one...kneel down on d front steps holding two big stone up in d air - embarrassment and pain!! you really feel you want to do that again?

We always see what everybody else is doing and never know that our child/ren doing wrong! you always hear parents say "Why dey had to kill him? He was a good chile! He used to take care of his mother!"

but dat same good chile not working nowhere, and draws no pay.  that dame chile not planting no garden. dat same good chile does lie down in he bed whole day, and sleep....does wear he pants under his butt, and ah 'wife beaters'. and when he not lying down, then that same good chile liming on d corner!! so tell me....HOW HE TAKING CARE OF HE MOTHER?

and we wonder why our country the way it is!!!! why we have this high crime situation.  its because we dont care about nobody and nothing but ourselves.  we dont even care about our children other wise we would ensure that they go to school, get a good education, and become marketable. get a job.

Thats the only time that the crime situation will stop...when WE take back our country, when we start to control our children, when we start back to teach them right from wrong, and correct them when we see them on the wrong path.  Dont ask what the Govt can do...ask when are we going to start doing the right thing!!!

  6. I think government could resolve the crime situation if they started putting a whole lot more money into social development and reinforcing the culture and values of our country and stopped wasting money on stupid splashy "crime solutions" namely that blimp thing...

The answer to crime is not a bigger police force or more equipment, its in fixing what's going wrong in our society...

That's my take on it anyway....

  7. If they wanted to they can... they just don't want to....

  8. I totally agree wid yuh on dat!

I tink dat dey need tuh start at de primary school level. Dey take away de corporal punishment in schools and now we have ah set ah young young criminals on we hans. Dey need tuh start back dat. Dey beat de criminals in de jails but we cyah beat dem outside before dey turn out so?!? As meh mudder an dem use tuh say... Yuh cyah straighten ah bend tree.

Secondly, dey need tuh do sumetin wid dem crooked officers. I went tuh report sometin in de station an one ah dem officers, ah lady, jes listen tuh meh and dat was it. She din take no statement or nuttin. Why dat so? Plus all ah dem on de top need tuh be let go. My friend had tuh leave de country because de higher officers treaten him. Yuh tink dat right? So if we could do some kinda investigation and get rid ah dem den ah tink we'll be on de right track.

We also need as a people to put dong we foot. Everything raisin' an we jest accept it as is. One person boycutting flour or bread wouldn make ah difference. We need to all start doin it and den we'll make our voices heard. But trini people sufferin from apathy, accepting everything and not caring. If we make ah stand de gov. would notice and maybe do somethin good.

Dey need tuh start goin tru de villages an towns etc an actually seein de plight of de people. Most ah dem doh live in dey district so dey doh know what de people need. My mp when dey was in power tell my father dat he have tuh put de gov. in court to fix one ah dey drain dat pulling dong we house. Yuh tink dat right? So tell me if he seeking de people interest.

Dis one is for de people. STOP VOTING FOR RACE!!! Look at the candidate and see what they have to offer and then vote for that person. Make an educated vote. Don't just say that you are voting for P.N.M. or U.N.C. because you were born one and will die one. That is stupid thinking. As the saying goes...think before you act. I hope next election will be a better one for everyone. Most importantly...DON'T BE AFRAID OF CHANGE. The only thing constant in life is change. Change can be a beautiful thing.

I belive that the gov. alone cannot fix crime. We need to do our part also. And our first duty is the voting.

  9. Listen.................................C... have nothing to do with the GOVERNMENT.........................it is the citizens responsibility!

Stop buying CXC papers..............that is crime. Stop signing fake job letters.............that is crime, stop wiring illegal cable, lights,water,net....................that is crime, STOP squatting!.....................that is crime! REPORT illegal activities even if it is you brother! ...............that is crime.Stop going to Brothels.............that is crime! Stop pissing in public.....that is crime, stop littering................that is crime, stop tying animals outdoor without shelter, water and food!....................that is crime.Stop buying tickets from scalpers......that is crime, Stop having dark tints on your car glass...............that is crime! Sounds like any of you..........EXACTLY, handle your own business!

And crack down on druglords....................not drug mules or pawns. The fault is that of the Big men in the biz not the F*&^%ing IDIOTS who are being USED!

  10. you know TS have ah point. But we eh have the balls to do it.

We too worrried how it go look dat army and police lock dong de place.

We too worried if dey go abuse de powers (criminals abusing we rite now)

We too worried dat wah people go say (dey sayin how we too dotish)

Imagine ... a lil place like T&T whey errrybody know how to get weed and gun. Yet man doh get lock up.

If we really really want to put a stop to this madness it simple.

Drug money is funding all the gun runners, hence all other crimes right .... good

Make it law for every public servant (as a start) to submit to random drug testing at least once for the year. If found with any illegal substances you get a probation and sent to rehab. Failing that you get fired and locked up. Cocaine doh jes end up in yuh blood and it proves that you did comit a crime.

Remove the market for drugs. Make it sooo frigging bad if you get caught dat you eh even passing near dem stuff.

Start to flog people found with drugs, yes it sounding lil Iranish but you have to hit this problem with a sledge hammer not a feather.

Again we come back to the question --- DO we have the Balls to solve this problem or are we ok with the status quo

  11. Everybody have good reasons! I Agree with you all. I find the justice system ridiculous also. Takes to long to solve cases. And some of us like to hide criminals because is we chile, spouse, parent. Stop endorsing this nonsense. We really need to start taking a personal interest in our families and others...because they become our and society problems. We need to put serious pressure on the government to do something. Anybody ever see ah report of what exactly the blimp has done to achieve the reduction of crime since it around...cause  I never see one and I am very eager for that. I am only aware of a serious increase in crime since blimp around. Government have too much crooks and corruption for anything to fix. But...when it comes to election...we vote according to we skin colour rather than for seeking the best interest of this nation we all have to live in it.

Are we ever going to truly get serious about the deterioration of our country and fix it. The power is really in our hands...why we so fraid to use it.

  12. Yes they can help lower it - they have the resources to!

    *  More Money - hire new Policemen or pay them well, insert cameras in hotspots and by traffic lights, etc.  Get innovative and use technology to track criminals

    *  I am a PNM supporter - but Patrick Manning is getting on my last nerve!  We need to get a new Political Leader to oversee - not someone who looks like if he is gathering up all that he could get before his term is up (that is if he dosen't change the laws)

    *  Reporting crime or criminal activities - yes this is "touchy subject" since we don't know how discreet our law enforcers are, but I suppose Crime Stoppers are an option (fingers crossed) a phone call is all it takes (if yuh get signal or a respone)  Last week while in Tobago there were two guys and two gals liming on the beach - one of the guys lighted up his "splif" and immediately a Police Jeep pulled up and arrested him!

  13. If your house on fire, are you going to deal with your house or are you going to see if the neighbor house on fire first??

Most Trinidadians too HYPOCRITE if you ask me.

    Portrait of a True Trini:

Bump yuh gum nonstop and feel yuh have all the answers but what yuh really not looking at is that you're a BIG part of the problem.

Everything is the Gov't the Gov't.........how many times yuh buy thing that you know cost $1000 or more for $20 from the piper, not giving ah d**n that he just thief it from yuh neighbor, because "what the eyes ain't see the heart doh grieve'?!!

I think that they should do away with this whole Gov't and party politics thing and let everybody see for themselves, because it seems that some people feel that if the PNM in power and yuh move them and put UNC, the next day all guns and weapons, Scotty will just beam them up. Or if you move UNC and put COP, there will be no more crime immediately and T&T will automatically revert to the T&T of ole....c**p.

How may of us don't even stand up in line to pay a bill, we just see who we know in the line or licensing office and "grease" they hands with a hundred$ or two and boast about it after!

The places that "breeding" the criminals, what portion of the population gives a d**n about them, and how many people take pleasure in listening to the news just to find out how many neggars died today??!!

While we studying to gripe, we in our own way don't give a d**n about nobody but ourselves and it's only when it hits home, we start to think about nothing else but: WHO TO BLAME!!

  14. Steups!! Look at dat in Tobago police does show up at de drop of a dime! I remember a few years back when MTV (Real world/Road rules challenge)was there and something was going on at the house where everyone was staying and Tobago police was there in two twos. What's  the problem with Trinidad? Is the same government so why the bigger island can't get it together?

    **************************************...

I hate to say it but I blame it on the modernization of the island. Yes we want to be advanced but it's getting out of hand. People are mocking what they see on tv and thinking that this is cool. Trinidad has so many luxuries that common people cannot afford only a few wealthy citizens get to enjoy these things while you have people who cannot afford books and uniforms for their children for school. Those are the children that grow up to rob and steal cuz they tired of seeing their parents struggle to make ends meet. I agree we need more programs geared towards teaching the youth the importance of being responsible citizens and of course as with all things it starts at home from the moment of birth. So the government needs to take a moment and stop investing into all the material things and invest in the citizens.

  15. Let the army do exactly what they did up in Rich Plain Rd......Ain't all yuh bad...face some soldier boys and them....

'Is it necessary to have so much sodier boots in this small country?...yes, yes, yes....So doh tell me. Tell Manning he had them dey doing nothing..."

    Julien..Remember that song boy...?
